From 25th august to 10th september, the World Cup will take place in Philippines, Indonesia & Japan.
More than 100 games will be played during this period, let’s take a look at the differents teams.
IS USA BRINGING HOME THE TROPHY?
The Dream Team is far from what it used to be… But the United States are yet still the top of the Power Rankings right know, with players like rising star Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, NBA ROY Paolo Banchero as well as the NBA DPOY Jaren Jackson Jr;
This young team coached by Steve Kerr, Erik Spoelstra and Tyronn Lue is for sure the favorite but the gap between Team USA and others nations is very narrow. (Remember the last edition?)
With teams like France, Slovenia, Germany, Spain, Serbia & Italy, the Old Continent have all the weapons to win 2 Medals or more! The Chemistry in these teams is the most powerful ingredient for succes and offcourse they’re used to the ‘FIBA’s game’. Playing against these power houses will always be a challenge!
WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER NATIONS?
Australia is one of the best team in this competition, with NBAers like Mills, Giddey, Thibulle or even the veteran Joe Ingles, the « Boomers » will be a threat during this upcoming weeks.
Canada has a strong roster too, with NBA All Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his franchise teammate Dort but also R.J Barrett from the NY Knicks. Besides that they have bunch of decent and experienced players like Kevin Pangos and Kelly Olynyk so count them as an outsider for sure! (Is that even a valid term for a loaded roster like that?)
Karl Anthony Towns will try and help the Dominican Republic to a solid performance. We all know what he's capable of and together with the shifty guard Jean Montero he will give 100% (and more) to make all the Dominicans proud. This team can really be a surprise if it clicks and that's why they are in the top 10 on the Power Ranking.
Ivory Coast, led by Souleyman Diabate is already locked-in, with 10 wins on 12 games during the past African Qualifiers, Now it's time to see if the can bring their winning habits and show it on the world stage.
SUPERSTAR ALERT!
Doncic, Edwards, Ingram, Towns, Gilgeous-Alexander, Bridges, Vucevic, Schroder, Mills, Gobert, Fournier, Valanciunas & many more…
The World Cup attends some of the best players of the World from the NBA but also from the Euroleague like De Colo, Tavares, Fernandez, Llull, Yabusele, Mannion, Walkup!
Let's get ready and expect to see some crazy performances from theses guys during the competiton!
Since 2000, nobody averaged more than 28 points by game, I think there's certainly one guy willing to take up this challenge...
The curtain falls 10th of September, by then all our questions will be answered!
